Where to brunch on Sunday in Brussels: our guide

Sunday brunch in Brussels, between the Saint-Gilles classics and the pleasant surprises of the Pentagon. A short, tested and honest selection — including our two locations.

(H)## Sundays in Brussels were made for this

We often get the question: “Where’s a good brunch spot on Sunday in Brussels?” Rather than throwing out a top 20 we’ve never tested, here are the places we actually recommend to friends — Croix100 included, but not only.

Two tips before you leave

Book ahead. On Sundays, the good spots are full by 11.30. A message the day before is usually enough.

Plan a walk afterwards. Brussels brunch tends to be generous. A stroll around the Sablon, the Parc de Bruxelles or the Ixelles ponds is the perfect way to wind down.

Around the city centre (Central Station)

The centre is perfect if you’re coming from a museum or a hotel. Our Croix100 Gare Centrale (Rue d’Arenberg 44) opens at 8am on weekdays and 10am on Sundays — ideal for a gourmet brunch with sweet-and-savoury croissants and specialty coffee.

A few steps away, the Sablon area is full of patisseries and cafés to extend the morning.

Around Louise

Over in Saint-Gilles and Louise, Sundays are calmer. Croix100 Louise (Rue de Dejoncker 19) is open every day from 10am to 6pm — a terrace in summer, a glass canopy in winter, and our Norwegian (salmon & avocado) that wins everyone over.

Next door, the flea markets at Parvis de Saint-Gilles are a great before- or after-brunch stop.

What we look for in a good brunch

For us, a good Brussels Sunday brunch means:

  • bread or pastry made the same day
  • eggs cooked to order (not sitting on a hotplate for two hours)
  • a decent hot drink — matcha, filter or espresso, but never a bitter coffee
  • fresh juice, not a concentrate

Tick those four boxes and you’ve done 80% of the job.
